The Old Town Square is a historic square in the Old Town Quarter. It is situated in the old town quarter in Prague, Czech Republic. The houses in the Old Town Square were constructed around the 12th and 13th centuries.
Why it is special: The Old Town Square takes a person back 600 years to a different era. The church tower, which is 80 metres high, and the church itself have been around since the 14th century. Various other monuments and memorials have been erected in the Square giving the town a medieval feel. The markets are organized in such a way as to resemble those held centuries ago. In fact, the Christmas market held in the Old Town Square is the largest Christmas market in the Czech Republic.
