The Currier’s Wisdom

Once, a beautiful city was in danger from its enemy. The enemy had surrounded the city. The heads of the city called a meeting of all the people. They asked them to give ideas to safeguard their city. Everybody gave a different idea. A bricklayer said, “We should use bricks to protect our city as bricks are very strong.” A carpenter suggested, “We can use timber to protect our city. This will not allow the enemy to enter our city.” The people found these ideas futile. At last, a currier stood up and said, “I make leather. There is no material which is so strong as skin. Every man’s skin is strong enough to fight the enemy. We all should stand together and fight for our city.” People cheered at this idea. All the men agreed and fought together and saved their city.
