Long ago, the birds and the beasts were enemies. Then, a kind and wise lion became the ruler of the jungle. He found that there was disharmony among the animals. The lion was peace-loving and did not like this at all. He wanted to bring about a change in the jungle. He wanted everyone to live in peace. One day, the lion called a meeting of all the animals. He made a declaration, “I have noticed that there is a lot of enmity among all the animals. It is my order that all of you shall live peacefully with one another. You shall no longer be enemies, but live together as friends.” At first, all the animals were confused. But then, they understood what the lion meant. Soon, there was peace and harmony in the jungle. The lion was very happy.
