Air Attack

Air-Attack

It was a dark, cloudy night. Corporal Jackson was tense. His company was supposed to launch an air attack at the enemy, but it was too dark to make sure that they actually landed on the target. The men lined up and jumped out of the plane. One by one, they opened their parachutes and sailed silently to the ground. Instead of landing in an open field as planned, the Corporal found himself falling into a thick canopy of trees. His parachute got stuck in the branches and he had to cut himself out of the harness. He fell soundlessly to the ground, alert for any enemy troops. Dodging behind trees, the Corporal rescued three of his men from the enemy before they finally reached an open field. He held his breath as he heard swift footsteps approaching. Then a familiar voice whispered, “Corporal, awaiting your orders, sir!” Corporal Jackson nodded, and silently led the attack.
