Kidnapped!

One morning, Eric was riding his bicycle, when a black car slowed down next to him. Before he could understand anything, two men covered his nose with a chloroformed rag and he fainted. When he woke up, he was locked in a room he had never seen before. There were no windows and no furniture, except for a mattress on the floor. Luckily, the room key was in the door from outside. Eric had an idea. He pushed a sheet of newspaper part-way under the door. Using another paper, he pushed at the keyhole, till he heard the key fall onto the newspaper. Then he slowly pulled the newspaper back to his side of the door, with the key on it! Eric held his breath as he turned the key and opened the door. Sneaking out of the house, he called the police. The kidnappers were caught, before they even realised that Eric had escaped!
