The day had arrived finally. Every-body had been waiting for this day. It was the final day of the football match. One of the players, Bill Octopus, was very excited. He loved football. With his many feet he was a real terror for the other team. Bill began to get ready for the big match. He put on the first shoe on the first tentacle, then he put on the second. As he put on the third shoe, the crowd began to gather. Wearing shoe number six Bill practised some tricks. Then he put on shoe seven and finally shoe eight. But Bill was getting nervous and he took ages to tie the laces. Finally, he was ready. But when he went to the stadium, the referee said, “You are too late. The game is over!” Poor Bill could only stare in dismay.
