Mulla and the Man on the Tree

Mulla-and-the-Man-on-the-Tree

One day, a man climbed up a tall tree. After sometime, he realised that he could not get down the tree without putting himself at risk of falling. He asked a few passers-by for help, but more knew what to do. Then Mulla Nasruddin walked by and devised a plan. He threw a rope up to the man and said, “Tie this around your waist.” The people near by wondered what Mulla was doing. They asked him his plan, but he replied, “Just trust me.” When the man tied the rope around his waist, Mulla pulled it. The man fell from the tree and hurt himself. The people, horrified seeing this, remarked, “What kind of a plan was that?” Mulla replied, “I once saved someone’s life doing the exact same thing. But I’m not sure whether I saved him from a well or from a tree.” The man kept shouting at Mulla while he was being carried away.
