Once, in Witchland, there lived a witch. But this witch was very unhappy. It was because she had a tom cat. This cat was afraid of flying. It was very embarrassing for the witch. All the other witches had cats that sat on the backs of their broomsticks, looking grand and important. As soon as the witch’s tom cat sat on the broomstick, he would shiver and meow unhappily. The colour would drain from his fur and he turned white with fright. The other witches laughed a lot at the tom cat and told the witch that she should throw him away. But the witch loved the tom cat and did not do any such thing. Instead, she took him on short flights so that he might get used to flying. Soon, he started loving to fly in the air. Now, the witch proudly took him on her broomstick.
