Have you ever seen a butterfly? It is so beautiful. It has colourful wings and keeps flying and sits on flowers. But do you know that before becoming a butterfly, it has to cross many stages? The first stage is the egg stage. After that comes the caterpillar stage. It is a worm-like stage of the butterfly. Then it becomes a chrysalis spending the whole of winter in the branch of a tree. But as the winter goes away, the beautiful butterfly spreads its pretty wings and flies away. Soon, this butterfly lays eggs, which change into caterpillars, then chrysalis and finally butterflies.
