Rosette and Annette

Rosette-and-Annette

Rosette and Annette were made day and night fairies by the Fairy godmother after they had finished their schooling in the fairyland. Before starting their duties, the fairies decided to have a tea party. During the tea party, Rosette started arguing with Annette about who was the more important between them. “Day is more important!” Rosette said, “We can go to school and play. Night is a waste of time. We just sleep and do nothing productive.” Annette said, “You are wrong, Rosette. Night is the time when everyone rests after a hard day’s work. A soundless and restful sleep is very important for the body.” As the argument between the fairies grew louder, the Moon heard them. He said, “Tell me what is more important–to sleep or to play.” The fairies said, “Both!” The Moon said, “In the same way, both night and day are important. We can’t choose any one.” The fairies understood and stopped fighting thereafter.
