One summer vacation, Harry was lonely. His two best friends had gone visiting their grandparents for a month. Not knowing how to pass time, Harry went to the riverside each morning. One day, Harry was playing alone by the river when a frog jumped out of it. He kept staring at Harry for a long time. “I wonder if he would like to play with me!” Harry said aloud. “Of course, I will play with you. My name is Charms,” said the frog. Shocked at this, Harry asked, “How can you talk?” Charms said, “I am a magical being. If you promise never to tell anyone about me, I will be your friend.” “I promise,” said Harry. Soon, Charms and Harry played together every day. Charms showed him many tricks. One day, Harry’s best friends returned. Out of excitement, he took them to meet Charms. But Charms was gone! Harry was ashamed and sad that he broke his promise to Charms.
