Martha was fascinated with flowers. She especially loved beautiful flowers. While roaming in a garden she would be moved by flowers in their full blossom. She would not want to go away from the garden. She loved to pluck colourful flowers. From yellow buttercups to white daisies, she always looked carefully before choosing the flower. One day, she was playing in the garden when she saw a red rose. It was so beautiful that she felt like plucking it. Just as Martha was about to pluck it, she drew back. ‘What a lovely rose! But if I pluck it, others will not be able to see the beauty of the rose,’ she thought. As she ran indoors leaving the rose behind, she saw the old lady next door smiling at the beautiful rose. Martha felt glad she had not plucked the red rose. It could now give enjoyment to others.
