Susan Has Friends

The Wilkinson family had two daughters and four sons. On Sundays, they would pile into a white wagon and go to the park, or museum, or to the lakeside. That would be a huge affair from morning to evening. Children are social by nature. They love to play with other children. They do not want to be alone. Wilkinson family’s children formed a big group. However, some children like Susan were not so lucky. Little Susan, an only child, was Wilkinson’s neighbour. She would often see the Wilkinson family laughing and playing together, and wished that she too had someone to play with. One day, Susan was sitting alone in her garden, while Wilkinson children were playing with a ball. The ball rolled into Susan’s garden. When she returned the ball, they invited her to play with them. Since then, Susan became friends with them. She was never lonely again!
