Giovanni loved to swim in the blue sea and play on the sand at the beach. One afternoon, she was walking on the beach when she saw a huge crowd collected on the shoreline. She wondered why the crowd had gathered there. As she walked across, Giovanni moved closer to the crowd. She saw that a group of people had built a massive sandcastle. It was so large that the tower of the castle touched the top of a sun umbrella. ‘Wow,’ thought Giovanni, ‘That is the biggest and strongest castle ever.’ It was very tall. She looked above and wondered how tall it was. She approached the tower and touched it. She felt that the castle was very strong. Suddenly, a huge wave crashed into the sandcastle. The castle was completely destroyed. It turned into a heap of sand once again. Giovanni realised that size is no guarantee of strength!
