Once upon a time, four travellers came to an old women’s hut and asked her if she could keep their little bundle with her.
They asked her to return it only if all four of them came together.
However, one among them came later and tricked the woman into acquiring the bundle. Later when the others came to claim it, she told them the truth. The three men did not believe her and took her to the court.
While Raman was listening to their complaint, he heard both sides properly. So when the three men said that the woman needed to compensate for the little bundle they gave her, Raman said, “There is no need to compensate. She will return the bundle to them, but only if all four men are there, as they had asked her initially.” On this, the entire court began laughing as the men had lost their case.
