Long, long ago, the animals had almost no tails. One day, the lion called all the animals to get good tails from him. It was raining and was very cold. The hare had a short little tail but he did not want to go out. So, he said to the other animals, “Please bring me a tail. I can’t go anywhere when it rains.” The animals asked him what kind of a tail he wanted. The hare replied, “Any tail will be good for me. But it must not be too long or too short.” The animals left. In the evening, all the animals came back with beautiful tails. But none brought a tail for the hare. Some of the animals forgot about the hare while some said that they had no time. The hare learnt a lesson, ‘If you want something, don’t ask others to do it for you.’
