There was jubilation in the palace and the entire kingdom. Seeta was happy to meet her sisters. Numerous earthen lamps was lit all around. Every street in Ayodhya was decorated tastefully. The citizens in the morning sat at their assigned places outside the palace.
Shatrughna had already brought the waters of the holy rivers for the coronation. Rama bathed with this water and was clad in the finest robes and jewellery. The other there brothers followed suit. Rama touched the feet of the three mothers and bowed down to the preceptor. All the kings, Vibheeshana, Sugreeva, Hanuman, Jambavan, Angad, Nala, Neela, Guha, the chieftain of Nishada tribe, etc. were present in the court. Rama ascended to the throne. The coronation began in the presence of the saints and the sages including Vasishtha and Vamdev. Then Sage Vasishtha first of all applied the sacred tilak on Rama’s forehead and put the glarious crown on his head. All showered flowers on him. Brother Bharata, Lakshmana and Shatrughna also stood around him.
Rama thanked everyone and said that there would be no crisis in the kingdom.
