Several ages ago, the mice called a meeting to discuss ways to put an end to the cats making them their prey.
The mice debated ways and means that could bring them to safety so that their freedom of movement might remain unhindered.
Finally, they decided to bell all the cats so that they might hear them coming when at quite a distance. But unfortunately, from the day this decision was taken till date, not even a single mouse has come forward to put a bell round the neck of a cat.
Moral : Life is dear to all creatures.
