The Cruel Farmer

Long ago, there lived a Farmer in a small village. He grew vegetables in his farm and sold them to the shops in the nearby town. One day, he thought of growing more and more vegetables.
As he grew many more vegetables, he could not take the vegetables to the town alone. Hence, he bought a cart along with a Donkey. The Donkey was very happy to work for the Farmer. The Farmer took care of him and appreciated his work.
But as time passed by, the Farmer stopped taking care of the Donkey. He used to give the Donkey less food and treated him cruelly.
The Donkey started feeling tired and weak. He did not like working for the Farmer any more.
One day, the Donkey decided to teach the Farmer a lesson. ‘He has been cruel to me while I do all the hard work. He must learn his lesson and respect me,’ thought the Donkey.
The same day, while they were walking towards the nearby town, they crossed a very narrow road on the side of a mountain. One side of the road faced a valley far down below. The Donkey thought of tilting towards the valley so that all the vegetables from the cart might fall down below. The Farmer would not be able to sell anything that day and incur losses.

While the Donkey was tilting, his foot slipped and he was about to fall when the Farmer held his tale. But he wanted to teach the Farmer a lesson, forgetting that his life was at risk. The Farmer understood his trick and let him go. The Farmer said, “I learn my lesson but you lose your life.”
