Princess Gina had been coughing all day and by evening she had fever. Doctors were called in but none of their remedies seemed to work. By morning she had fainted and the king and the queen were worried. Just then, an attendant announced that there was an ugly little gnome at the gate who said that he could cure the Princess Gina. The gnome came in and bowed to the king. “I’ll make her well, but on condition that she marries me,” said the gnome. The unhappy king agreed. The gnome stood near the princess and whispered some magic words in her ear. She sat up, completely cured! The king offered the gnome gold and mansions, but he only wished to marry the princess. Finally, the wedding was held. After it was over, Princess Gina kissed the gnome and said, “Thank you!” Suddenly, he turned into a handsome young man! The spell that made him a gnome had broken!
