Mac was a video game lover and spent many hours on computers. His favourite game was ‘Turtle Legends’ and he loved that game very much. His mom and dad were worried about him and always told him to play outside with his friends but he never listened to them. He would always say, “This is my doorway to the world.” One afternoon, Mac came back from school and went straight to his bedroom. He started playing the game. Mac’s father noticed all this. He wanted to teach his son a lesson instead of scolding him. Soon, he got an idea. Next morning, Mac’s father took some turtles from his friend, John, and put them into Mac’s bedroom. In the afternoon, Mac came back from school and went to his bedroom. He saw some turtles roaming around in his bedroom. He started crying and called his parents.
They came and told him to take care of the turtles. Mac didn’t like turtles very much but tried his best. Soon, he started loving them. He studied their diet, food and habits. Now, he enjoyed their company. Finally, Mac forgot his computer and video games. His parents were always worried that he would return to his video games but that didn’t happen.
One day, John came to take his turtles back. He went over to Mac and told him everything. Mac became very upset as he loved the turtles very much. But he didn’t say anything and agreed to give them back. He was very upset. The next day, Mac’s father went to a pet shop and brought a turtle and a cat for Mac. Mac was very happy. He kept them in his bedroom and took good care of them all.
