Drona was hurt and angry with Duryodhana accusing him not capturing Yudhishthira or killing Arjuna. The next day, Arjuna was drawn away once more by the Trigartas. Drona arranged his forces in the chakravyuha formation. Abhimanyu knew how to break the formation, but did not know how to get out of it. However, Yudhishthira, Bhima and the other warriors said they would get him out as they were so close beside him. Abhimanyu went into the chakravyuha formation but, before the others could enter, it was closed by Jayadratha, King of Sindhus and an ally of the Kauravas. Abhimanyu was caught inside alone among the enemy. He fought valiantly against Drona, Ashwatthama, Kripa, Karna, Shakuni, Salya, Duhshasana and others, wounding many of them. They killed his horses and charioteer, and broke his weapons. He picked up a wheel of his chariot, whirling it as a weapon. But Duhshasana’s son finally killed him.
