There were praises everywhere for Adam’s garden. Adam was a lover of flowers. He had the prettiest flowers in the town. But one day, as Adam went down to his flower patch, he was upset to see that nearly all of his pretty flowers had disappeared. Only the stems were left! He reported the matter to the policeman. Upon questioning the people, he could not find a clue to where the flowers were. In the afternoon, Adam was drinking tea and looking at his flowers when he found the culprit. It was Farmer Peter’s goat. She was leaning over the gate and chewing the petals. Adam came out and drove the goat away. Farmer Peter apologized to Adam and bought Adam some new bulbs to plant in his garden. But this time, Adam was careful to plant them away from the gate. Now, the goat could only stare from far away!
