Aesop lived in a small town. He was very knowledgeable and wise.
One day, Aesop was standing outside a poultry farm and staring inside. He was observing all the animals. All the people passing by noticed Aesop.
As time passed by, people around him grew curious to know why Aesop was staring at the farm animals for so long. The people in this town were keen on knowing everything happening in another person’s life.
A group of people decided to go to Aesop and ask him what he was doing. “You have been standing here for a long time, Aesop. Are you planning to steal one of the animals from the farm?” someone asked and started laughing. He added, “We are only asking as we are worried about the safety of the farm animals. We do not like interfering in another man’s business.”
Aesop understood that the people were trying to interfere in his business. He pointed at one animal in the farm and said, “I have been observing this particular animal. He has been walking proudly throughout the farm and meeting all the animals. But no one seems to like him. He foolishly seems to be copying humans.”
Surprised, one man asked, “What do you want to say, dear Aesop?”
Aesop explained, “Like us humans, sometimes animals also talk very highly of themselves but instead of gaining respect, they make a fool of themselves.”
All the people standing next to Aesop were confused as Aesop smiled and went his way.
