Depending on the tribe, the African doll’s style changes and so does its uses. For instance, Ndebele people make LingaKoba dolls in colourful clothing. And a man who wishes to propose to a woman places the doll outside her home to convey his intentions. Similarly, Tsonga tribe makes Nwana dolls that are used as a puberty ritual by girls. The dolls are made by the Turkana people using nuts, beads, leather, etc.
