The Al-Aqsa Mosque, known as ‘The Farthest Mosque’ was built in the Old City of Jerusalem in 705 AD. Considered to be the third holiest site in Islam, this silver-domed rectangular mosque strongly reflects early Islamic architecture. The interior consists of 45 marble columns and 121 stained glass windows.
Amazing Fact: From 1099 till almost 1187, the Crusaders used the mosque as a palace.
