Albert loved flowers and had many books about them. He even went to flower shows and exhibitions. His mother was amazed that he could name many flowers by just looking at them. Albert lived in a flat and did not have space to grow flowers. So, his mother made arrangements on a window sill where he could grow some flowers. However, Albert longed for a big garden. One day, Albert’s mother took him to her best friend’s farmhouse. Aunt Gertrude had a huge garden. Seeing his passion for flowers, she let him tend her garden throughout his summer vacation. “Albert, you’ve created such a beautiful garden! This is your garden now,” said Aunt Gertrude. “But it belongs to you,” said Albert. “No, the garden does not belong to the person who has it. It belongs to the person who loves and takes care of it,” she said. Albert started spending every weekend at the garden.
