Amelia Earhart was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. A pilot, aviator and author, Amelia was taught to fly by another female aviator, Neta Snook. When she was making her circumnavigational flight of the globe, Amelia’s aircraft disappeared over the Central Pacific Ocean.
