Andy and the Rains

Andy-and-the-Rains

Andy loved the rains. But his mother always made him take an umbrella when he went to school or play. One rainy day, Andy said, “Umbrella, because of you, I can’t enjoy the rains.” The umbrella said, “I protect you from getting wet.” Andy said, “But I love to get wet and jump in puddles!” The umbrella said, “If you get wet, you’ll catch a cold.” Just then, Andy saw an old man, standing under a tree, trying to find shelter from the pouring rain. He had no raincoat or umbrella. Andy immediately gave him his umbrella. The man said, “But don’t you need it?” Andy said, “No! This way, I have fun in the rain and the umbrella can do its job of protecting someone from the rain!” That night, Andy caught a terrible cold. His mother gave him medicines and tucked him to bed. He had enjoyed playing in the rain.
