Ankylosaurus

Ankylosauruses were present in ancient times of the Late Cretaceous Period.

They were herbivores and fed on low-growing ferns and plants.

Ankylosaurus had a length of around 9 metres and was
twice the weight of a rhinoceros.

It had a short, wide head, armoured eyes but weak jaws.

Ankylosaurus had wide feet and walked on all four legs.

Huge bony plates and spikes on its body helped to protect it against attackers.

Ankylosaurus was also called the “Fused Lizard” because parts of

its skull were fused together.

Ankylosaurus had a massive tail club. It could even break

the bones of another dinosaur.

Ankylosaurus could run only about 6 kilometres per hour because of

its heavy body.

An adult Ankylosaurus would build a nest and lay eggs in it.
