We are deceived by labels. A bottle with a ginger ale label contains ginger ale, not lemonade. But, sometimes a labelled bottle contains something different from the label. Fred hated ginger ale but loved lemonade. If he saw a bottle with the label of ginger ale, he would be disappointed. One day, Fred’s family went on a picnic. They met another family there. Fred saw that they had a big bottle labelled ginger ale. The other family offered some to his brother, James. Fred ran away so that he might not have to drink the ginger ale. He only came back when the other family had left. The bottle of ginger ale was lying empty. “Oh Fred, where were you?” said Jack, “They gave me the most delicious lemonade to drink. It was in that bottle labelled ginger ale.” Fred felt very foolish. He realised that appearances can be deceptive.
