The Arc de Triomphe is a memorial honouring French soldiers. The Monument stands tall at the western end of the Champs-Élysées, in Paris, France. This historic Monument was inaugurated in 1836.
Why it is special: Neoclassical in architecture and style, the Arc de Triomphe stands 50 metres tall and 45 metres wide. The names of French victories and generals have been inscribed on its inner and outer surface. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers of World War-1 lies beneath it.
