Interesting fact : Salmon-coloured armadillos are called ‘pink fairy’. Its armour is the bony plates on its body which protect it from ant bites! They have poor eyesight, but a keen sense of smell and strong claws for digging. Only the three-banded armadillo can curl itself into a ball to prevent onslaughts. They cannot survive the cold, and entire populations have been known to be wiped out.
