Arriving Late

Arriving-Late

Punctuality is an overrated custom in South America.

Do you know: If you arrived on time or early for a meeting or party in South America, it is considered rude and you would be deemed ‘too eager’.

It is customary for people in most parts of South America to show up a minimum of 10 to 20 minutes late for any event. Be it a business meeting, wedding or a social party, arriving at the time mentioned by the host, can lead to stress and embarrassment for the host, who is in all likelihood himself not prepared.
