The Atlantic guitarfish looks like a hybrid between a shark and a ray. Its flat body is freckled with white spots, has well developed dorsal fins, triangular caudal fins and tapers to a thick tail, resembling a guitar in totality. These fish live in sandy coastal waters often close to coral reefs and feed on fish, benthic crustaceans and shellfish.
