The Atlantic Ocean Road, also known as the Atlantic road, is a long section of County Road 64, in Norway. The construction of the road was started on 1st August, 1983 and the road was opened on 7th July, 1989 costing 122 million Norwegian krone. Connecting island of Averøy with the mainland and Romsdalshalvøya peninsula, the road runs across several small islands connected with causeways and bridges. Featured in many automotive commercials, it is considered ‘The world’s best road trip’.
