Living in the deep waters of the world are these tree-like, marine invertebrates of the order Euryalida with about 177 species. Their arms branch out repeatedly almost growing to 70 cm long. They can weigh up to 5 kg. The arms have little hooks for capturing zooplankton for food. They breathe by pumping water into their systems, feeding and excreting through their mouths. They reproduce both sexually and asexually. Its lifespan is 35 years.
