The Bathroom Ban is a custom that is part of the Tidong community that resides in Sandakan city, Malaysia.
Do you know: As a part of the ritual, the newly
wedded couple is not allowed to clear their bowels or even urinate for 3 days and nights! Very little food and water is allowed to the couple on whom the members of family and relatives keep a close eye. The couple believe that they must follow the custom of not going to the bathroom because if they don’t, it is believed that bad things like infidelity, broken marriage or even the death of children would follow the couple.
