It was Christmas. But poor Becky was very sad. She lived in an orphanage and could not have a pretty tree or gifts. Becky had fever, and slowly she went into deep sleep. Becky had a dream. She was floating in the sky. A beautiful fairy flew to Becky and said, “Becky, you are a nice and kind girl. I have a wonderful Christmas gift waiting for you when you wake up.” Kissing Becky, the fairy put a silver chain around her neck. Suddenly, Becky opened her eyes. Becky felt her neck and yes, the chain was around her neck. Just then the matron came in and said, “Becky, meet your aunt and these are your cousins, Margaret and Thomas.” Becky’s aunt hugged her and said, “Becky, we have been looking for you for years. Now, you will live with us.” Becky was very happy. She finally had a family.
