Interesting fact : Bed bugs cannot survive in temperature higher than 450 C. Neither can they survive if there is a high percentage of carbon dioxide in the air.
Not more than 5 millimetres in length, these reddish brown insects can survive without food for 4-5 months at a stretch. But typically feed every 8-10 days by sawing through the skin and injecting saliva with painkillers. They have 5 immature stages and 1 mature stage in life which is completed over 2 months.
