Mimicking the ice around them, beluga whales are white in colour with globular heads. It can grow up to 5.5 metres in length and weigh up to 1,600 kg. A layer of fat covers the whole body for insulation and helps during starvation. Its diet includes fish, crustaceans and deep sea invertebrates. Its lifespan is 70-80 years.
