Bheem Meets Hanuman

Bheem followed the direction from where the fragrance of the Saugandhika flowers was coming. The path was very tough and narrow. Soon, Bheem reached the foot of a hill. He saw an old monkey resting on the path, thus blocking it. Bheem politely asked the monkey to clear the path. But the monkey did not seem to hear him. So Bheem tried to frighten the monkey by shouting at him. The monkey just lay there adamantly. Instead, he said, “I am too old to move! If you want to go, you can just jump over me and move ahead.” A short-tempered Bheem yelled at the monkey and boasted that he was a born fighter and a prince of the Kuru Dynasty. He said, “I am the son of Kunti and I bear the traits of the Wind-god. Move aside, if you want to live. It is my command!” The old monkey was Hanuman himself.
