First mentioned around 1423, Blagaj is a small town-village located in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Blagaj is named such after its mild weather patterns. Situated at the spring of the Buna River, Blagaj is home to the historical tekke or tekija (Dervish monastery), which was built around 1470 and has a mix of Ottoman architecture and Mediterranean style.
