Kit was a fat little lamb who belonged to Farmer Jolly. He would drink milk all day from any of the ewes because they loved him. He was a favourite because he was always skipping around happily. He looked like a large ball bouncing all over the place. “You’ll get into trouble one day, bouncing like this!” said his mother. But Kit wasn’t worried at all. One day, he did get into trouble. He was so busy bouncing higher and higher, that he got caught in the low-hanging branches of a tree! He began to bleat loudly, for his wool was tangled in the twigs. Farmer Jolly came running and managed to get him down! Poor Kit! His wool had got messy and many tufts had come off. He looked quite a mess. Farmer Jolly ducked him in a tub and cleaned him thoroughly! Now, Kit was very careful about bouncing!
