The great archer Arjuna married Sri Krishna’s sister Subhadra. They had a son whom they named Abhimanyu. One day, while Abhimanyu was about to be born, Arjuna was talking about chakravyuh to Subhadra. She fell asleep soon after listening how to enter into chakravyuh. So, Abhimanyu learnt to enter the formation from inside his mother but could not learn the skill to exit it. After his birth, Abhimanyu became a great archer, equivalent to his father. When the war of Kurukshetra broke out between the Pandavas and the Kauravas, Abhimanyu was only sixteen years old and the youngest of all the warriors. On the thirteenth day of the war, the Kauravas planned to use the chakravyuh formation. Arjuna was busy saving his eldest brother Yudhishthir, so Abhimanyu suggested to break the chakravyuh formation himself and exit the same. He entered into the chakravyuh and a fierce battle ensued where all the Kaurava warriors attacked Abhimanyu together which was contrary to the rules of the war. Abhimanyu fought bravely until he met with his end in this chakravyuh. He was killed by Karna who stabbed him with his sword from the back. Abhimanyu died at a very early age and is still remembered for his bravery.
