The Brecon Beacons National Park is one of the 3 National Parks in Wales and is located in the Brecon Beacon range of hills. Established in 1957, this National Park covers 1,340 sq.km with the Black Mountains in the west, Forest Fawr as well as the Brecon Beacons in the centre and another range in the east, which is incidentally also known as the Black Mountains. With grassy moorlands stretching endlessly, the National Park offers a plethora of outdoor activities, including walking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, rock-climbing, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, fishing, hand-gliding, caravanning, camping and caving.
