This snail is about 40 mm wide and 35 mm in height. Apart from the whorls on its shells the colouring of the shells in the adults varies from golden brown, to chestnut with yellow stripes, streaks or flecks. Herbivorous in nature, they feed on various types of plants, but it is also known to scavenge on animal matter. A female typically lays 80 pearly eggs in a sheltered area in one batch. 6 such batches are laid a year.
