Bunny, the Rabbit’s Trick

Bunny, the Rabbit’s Trick

Once, Bunny the rabbit lived in the forest, near a river. In the river there lived two snakes that always disturbed other animals to drink water and drove them away. While one snake lived on the upper bend of the bank, the other lived towards the lower bend. The rabbit realised that neither of the snakes knew about the other. So Bunny decided to teach them a lesson. He went to both the snakes separately and said, “I know you are mightier than I. But if I manage to pull you out of the water, will you let me drink water from the river?” The snakes laughed and accepted the challenge wondering how a little rabbit could possibly pull them out.

Finally, the day of the challenge arrived and the rabbit placed a big grapevine near the bend. He asked both the snakes to pull hard. The snakes kept pulling the grapevine with all their might from the two ends, while the naughty little rabbit rolled on the ground and laughed till his stomach ached.
