Buzludzha Monument

The Buzludzha Monument was built on a peak in the Central Balkan Mountains, Bulgaria, in 1981. The Bulgarian communist party built the Buzludzha Monument to commemorate the creation of the socialist movement in 1891. Sitting 1441 metres above the sea level, the structure resembles a giant concrete spaceship with a 107-metre tall tower with an amazing central meeting chamber.

Amazing Fact: The mammoth monument is no longer maintained by the government and has fallen into disuse and disrepair.
