• Common name : White Calla Lily, Arum Lily
• Scientific name : Zantedeschiaaethiopica
• Family : Araceae
• Native land : Southern Africa in Lesotho, South Africa, and Swaziland
It is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant, evergreen in wet and warm regions and deciduous where there is a dry season. Calla lilies are not true lilies; its brilliant white floral bract surround the central pale yellow floral spike bearing tiny flowers. They are stemless plants whose flowers and leaves rise directly from the rhizomes. The arrow-shaped leaves are bright green. The plant grows up to 3 feet tall. All parts of the plant are poisonous, causing irritation and swelling of the mouth and acute gastric diarrhoea.
